Newcastle church interior redesign - Our brief was to redesign an old Methodist church in Longbenton, Newcastle to meet the needs of our client. The design was only internal, to create a gallery in the auditorium, a mezzanine floor and more ancillary office spaces.
The church auditorium will have a high arch ceiling and a gallery supported by pillars from the ground up. The main reception will be on the ground floor, while the teen’s church, featuring a semi-glass cubicle for sound engineering, will be on the first floor. There will be other rooms in the church, such as the meeting room, the pastor’s office, and the pastor’s waiting room beside the pastor’s office. The main auditorium will have long windows with four compartments covering both the main auditorium and the gallery while the first floor will have casement and awning windows. There is an elevated platform in front of the auditorium serving as the altar.
